Cross Laminated Film
HDPE cross laminated film manufactured for high strength, tear resistance and dimensional stability in waterproof membranes, roofing underlayment, tape and other reinforced film applications.
UPASS offers 60B, 60C and 60F cross laminated film grades, allowing manufacturers to select the appropriate film according to mechanical performance, elongation and surface requirements.
Cross laminated film is a reinforced polyethylene film structure produced by orienting film layers in different directions and laminating them together.
This cross-oriented structure helps distribute mechanical stress across both the machine direction (MD) and cross direction (CD), providing a combination of tensile strength, tear resistance, elongation, making the film thinner yet stronger in performance.
Compared with a conventional single-direction oriented film, cross laminated film can provide more balanced mechanical performance in applications where the film may experience stress from different directions.
UPASS manufactures HDPE cross laminated film for downstream manufacturers that use the material in waterproofing, roofing and other industrial film structures.
UPASS currently offers three grades:
Designed for applications where higher maximum tension and strong mechanical performance are important.
Designed for applications where higher elongation at maximum tension is required while maintaining high tensile strength.
Designed with an anti-skid surface treatment for roofing membrane applications, particularly where improved traction is required on sloped surfaces.

You need a cross laminated film with a higher specified maximum tension and strong mechanical performance.
Key focus:
Your application requires higher specified elongation while maintaining a tensile strength of ≥50 MPa.Performance of 60C: Resistant to yellowing; the waterproofing membrane has a better appearance than that made with 60B.
Key focus:
Your roofing membrane requires an anti-slip surface for installation on sloped roofing surfaces.
Key focus:
Cross laminated film is used by waterproofing membrane manufacturers as a reinforced film or substrate within different membrane constructions.
The film can provide mechanical reinforcement and support the membrane's requirements for tensile strength, tear resistance and elongation.
UPASS cross laminated film grades can be evaluated for applications including:
For waterproofing membrane manufacturers, film selection should consider the membrane construction, production process, bonding system, thickness and required mechanical performance.
For roofing applications where workers need to operate on sloped surfaces, UPASS 60F provides a specially treated anti-slip surface.
The textured surface is designed to improve traction under wet and dry conditions while maintaining the reinforcement characteristics of cross laminated film.
60F is available in 75–200 μm basis thickness and 200–1060 mm width, with an anti-slip layer of 5–10 g/m².
UPASS cross laminated film is supplied as a polymer film material for downstream converting and membrane manufacturers.
Used as a reinforcement or substrate film in selected waterproofing membrane constructions.
Cross laminated structures can be used in roofing underlayment applications where mechanical strength and tear resistance are required.
Depending on the required mechanical properties and processing conditions, cross laminated film can also be evaluated for other industrial applications.
UPASS supplies multiple cross laminated film grades, including 60B, 60C and 60F, allowing customers to select a film according to their application requirements.
The cross laminated film series is based on polyethylene film technology and is developed for applications requiring reinforced film performance.
Instead of offering one standard film for every application, UPASS provides different grades for different mechanical and surface requirements.
Customers can provide their required thickness, width, application, membrane construction and performance requirements for technical evaluation.
UPASS supplies polymer film materials to downstream manufacturers, including manufacturers of waterproofing and roofing products.
Determine the required film thickness based on the final product construction and manufacturing process.
Compare tensile strength, maximum tension, elongation and tear resistance according to the requirements of the finished product.
For conventional reinforced film applications, 60B or 60C may be considered.
For roofing applications requiring an anti-slip surface, 60F is the appropriate grade to evaluate.
The selected film should be evaluated with the customer's actual production equipment, adhesive or asphalt system and processing conditions.
The appropriate grade depends not only on film properties but also on the final application.
Cross laminated film is a reinforced polymer film made by laminating film layers oriented in different directions to provide mechanical performance across both MD and CD.
HDPE cross laminated film is used in applications including waterproofing membranes, roofing underlayment, roofing membranes and other reinforced film structures.
60B has a higher specified maximum tension of ≥300 N/50 mm, while 60C has a higher specified elongation at maximum tension of ≥250%. Both have a specified tensile strength of ≥50 MPa.The 60C grade exhibits good yellowing resistance, and the synthetic waterproofing membranes produced from it have a better appearance than those made from 60B.
60F is a cross laminated film with a specially treated anti-slip surface designed for roofing membrane applications, particularly on sloped roofing surfaces.
60B and 60C can be evaluated for waterproofing membrane applications, depending on the required mechanical and elongation performance. 60F can be considered when an anti-slip surface is required.
UPASS can evaluate customized requirements according to the customer's application, thickness, width, processing conditions and required performance.
